Welcome to our community website.
This is the official site for Sherfield English Parish Council, and all village community groups.
Parish Council Meetings take place approximately every 6 weeks, on dates set for the year after each Annual Parish Meeting.
Full meetings start with an 'Open Forum' at which Parish residents are invited to raise any topics of interest or concern. You are also welcome to stay and observe as much of the regular business of the meeting as you wish. Meetings always start at 7.30pm, and are usually on a Wednesday.
The Annual Parish Meeting, which is followed by a formal AGM to appoint the next year's Councillors, is held in May every year.
From May 2020 special arrangements have been made - There will be a virtual meeting (using Zoom) for the Councillors. Members of the public are invited to submit questions or raise points by email, but may also attend the Zoom meeting - The meeting ID and passcode are given in the published Agenda. Or contact the Clerk for the meeting ID and password: clerk 'at' sherfieldenglish.org.uk
The Minutes of Ordinary Meetings of the Parish Council are now published the following month in the village's community newsletter (SEDCA) - see the 'Minutes' page for more details. The most recently approved meeting minutes are also available to download - click on the 'Minutes' button below.
To learn about specific aspects of the Parish Council's work use the buttons in the lefthand column, or the Menu links under 'Parish Council' at the top of the page. These include the Parish Plan, published in 2008, and the Village Design Statement, which was published and formally adopted by TVBC in 2015.
Work is currently under way to develop a Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) - see link in left column.
